It's a liquidity driven boomlet.

I posted this over on the booms and bust threads, but here's my scenario.

1. Create cheap money.

2. Float convertible bonds (look at all the money getting raised by very marginal operations).

3. Buy back stock.

4. Cash in options.

5. Increase chip glut.

103. Let somebody else pick up the pieces.

One day, it all falls apart, but "one day" is still a ways off, it appears.

I don't understand why the lack of long term value is being disregarded either but some very bright minds, to whom I have paid good money to secure a bit of their wisdom, have determined that investors/speculators in general are likely to continue to bid up prices at this time.
