Mr. LPS5 did an excellent job of exposing your abysmal ignorance of the history of the US Constitution. Maybe you should read a bit about it. You might begin to understand why some of the phrases in it are there. Like this: Amendment V. No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. The English kings had a little habit of confiscating the property of those who had pissed them off or had gotten in the way of their schemes. The intent of those words above in the Constitution was to deny any such power to the federal gov't. Although I'm sure you would like it done only if they were excessively successful. Or conservative.
