my point is, that my comments about cultures that tend to be savers vs spenders (primarily asian cultures, I believe) had nothing to do with the socioeconomic status of the individuals involved, or americans for that matter. Making a link between cultures that tend to pool family money for home ownership, or cultures that shy away from debt- with the socioeconomic status where 15 people live in a shack with no running water ... is quite a stretch, wouldn't you say?
