Mq, everybody benefits from Moore's law. But not uniformly.

Because the law of diminishing returns kicks in some economic feedback. It costs the same amount of R&D to cut the cost of something from $20 down to $10 as it does to cut that same thing down from $200 to $100 further up the evolutionary path.

And while an expenditure of $20 might make sense to save $100, it turns out to be less sensible an expenditure just to save $10.

So after a while, the words "why bother" trickle out. And despite the possibilities, Moore takes a rest.

When two technologies in a race are not miles and miles apart, often the younger one wins. Provided that the youthful technology is old enough and strong enough to compete.

And after running with my son, sounds just too utterly human, doesn't it?
