The public was told that Saddam posed an imminent threat

The administration carefully avoided the use of the word "imminent". The words used were "growing threat".

Hi, Sam. Welcome to this snake pit. This is how I'm amuzing myself, while waiting for my portfolio to achieve some appreciable fraction of its 2000 high.

Put about half the posters on Ignore, and the signal/noise ratio is tolerable. There are actually a collection of intelligent, thoughtful people who post here (both Hawks and Doves).

I just shake my head in wonder, that GWB is getting away with it, just like Clinton did. It's the same rationalizations, legalisms, redefinitions, partisan Team Players who See No Evil. And the ironic thing is, the players have all switched teams. Now, its the Republicans who are defending the indefensible, saying "what is the definition of 'is'".
