These are rather devastating numbers. No wonder Bush is trying hard for Israeli Palestinian peace. The numbers in traditional allies like Turkey and Morocco are particularly surprising.

There is a vast shift here, several hundred million people, living on the battleground, people who used to be on the sidelines of this war, and who now are solidly against us.

So, perhaps we should start promoting democracy, and stop promoting military dictatorships run by foreign armies of occupation.
