not completely an impartial observer here, but isn't that a weeeeeeee bit hypocritical on your part -- don't you trade options around your core Euro position <g>

You say there is no reason for the fluctuation, but that doesn't make it so ... the FX rates change as fast as the perception of folks.

Isn't manipulation just another word to say -- darn it -- the price of X isn't moving my way, or moving too fast, or not moving enough ...

I'm getting that silly nomenclature out of my brain -- it's useless.
