Good for you. For years I've done my best to pay back what was done for me by doing for others as well.

What I always wonder is how doctors stay in business with the wait times to get paid by these big insurance companies. In my own biz I wait between 30-60 days or a little longer to get paid (any more than 90 and I'm on the phone with them to get paid). Sometimes bills from my doctor don't come through from the insurance company for that long and then they wait even longer still to get paid. It seems to me its always 90 days or longer. Then when I go to the doctor or the dentist I look around and count the number of people who are doing something that is billable and those that are "overhead". I wonder how they can stay in biz.

C4T,

Maybe you can answer this?
Why is it that a patient isn't given a price break when paying cash before leaving the office? No insurance forms to submit, cash at the end of the appointment.

BTW, <<we do what we need to do to help those less fortunate than ourselves>> not to toot my horn but a lot of my health care is covered by the VA at a minimal charge and in turn I give a portion of my profits (if there are any ;-) to my pulmonary doctor who is one of the best in the NW and a teaching professor at the U of W for his student research foundation, some who donate their time (1 year) here and in Africa.

It's good to have an "Atitude of Gratitude".
