Don't forget to factor in the tax dollars that go towards drug research. IE in some cases, we pay for the research in tax dollars and then get gouged again with higher prescription costs.

Mike, It drives me nuts. Tip talked about paying for other Americans, but subsidizing foreigners really makes no sense. But the counter-argument is that the American drug cos. dominate the world, they employ Americans, they pay leases for buildings, etc. Is it worth the subsidy to foreigners to dominate this industry? I have no idea what the cost/benefit analysis looks like.

The US Government operates on a "Do as I say, not as I do" attitude...example; I get my med's from the VA (one of the few government entities that "sometimes" tries to control cost). The last batch I got from them were purchased from an outfit in Canada.
