Obviously the sellers of Manhattan thought the glass beads were as valuable as that entire piece of real estate. How does that fit into your theory?

Perfectly.

The theory does not say who gets what profit. Just the total amount of profit available. When the sale price is far from the amount of profit available, in either direction, someone ends up on the short end of the stick. Or string of glass beads, as the case may be.

That's the whole point.

Who knows... Maybe indeed you are such a clever Native, parting with worthless tracts of cash in order to gain the rights to hold some glimmering etchings on silicon crystals that few amongst your people could craft... making them coveted and valuable. You might even be right.

Regards
John
