Right, ultracheap communications technology is a powerful deflationary force. And we haven't seen nothing yet. Wait until it starts affecting service jobs in a big way. This force won't be spent until wages across the globe are more or less equal on a purchasing power basis.

1.5 GHz Athlon My first 386 cost me 3 grand+. Remember the ads for the screaming state of the art 486 DX2's ? (and the cost). A few hundred loonies will get you a low end screamer today. and coffee... up here it's always on sale. Food in general (forgetting the junk food crap) seems cheaper too.. Inflation ? Deflation ? Looks more lie a big realignment to me. Just try to hang on to a good spot on the curve.
