OT- Nokia, Kodak Make Cell Phone-Photo Deal

HELSINKI, Finland - Nokia (news - web sites) and Eastman Kodak Co. announced an agreement Monday aimed at making it easier for users of the Finnish company's mobile phones to store, print and share digital pictures.

Users of Nokia phones with built-in digital cameras will be able to capture, store, share and order prints of pictures with their handset using the Kodak Picture Center Online service. Nokia and Kodak will also jointly develop kiosk printing services and other retail printing solutions to empower mobile users to turn their favorite pictures into prints.

The online service started operating in Europe this week and will be unveiled in Asia later this year. A similar service offered by Rochester, N.Y.-based Kodak called Ofoto is already in place in the United States.

With the Kodak Picture Center Online, owners of a Nokia 3650, Nokia 7650 and Nokia 6600 camera-phone can save snapshots to an online photo album and order prints, too.

Users can also download their pictures and send them via multimedia message to other users.

Nokia and Kodak have already partnered in several markets in Asia to let users print pictures at more than 1,500 Kodak-branded kiosks as stickers, calendars and prints.
