OT: Even bull markets have to consolidate, which means sell off slightly, before rising further.

But my statement was concerning AMAT and not the broader market.

AMAT now has a relative strength of 68.1. That is the second highest closing RSI for the stock in the last six months:

stockcharts.com[h,a]daclyyay[pb20!b50!b200!c13!c20!c50!i!d20,2!f][vc60][iUb14!La12,26,9!Lg!Li10,10!Lh5,5!Lp14,3,3!Ll14]&pref=G

How many days can AMAT rise 5% in a row? Not many without a lot of help from an improving economy and better capital equipment expenditures from companies like INTC.

The bulls are moving AMAT higher now because after INTC's conference they may not be able to find an excuse to all pile on. I find it interesting that volume is lower on today's move for AMAT than it has been lately.

It's more a lack of selling than real big time buying.
