so is anybody still short this market? my shorts were about 8.5% of portfolio, but the strong rallies have made this 9.5%. not too frustrating because my longs are 66% of portfolio (counting miners) and they are way up, so my portfolio has benefited from the insanity. but i find any old thing i short is like the kiss of death! the more pathetic the stock, the better it seems to do.

i still value the shorts because they will come in handy once the market starts heading down, but i would hate to have been net short these last few months. i am just curious how close shorts are to capitulation.

this is typical in the semis--you could get some serious air by ski-jumping off the ramp on the right side of this chart bigcharts.marketwatch.com

here's another example away from the semis

i can only think ramps like this after a months-long rally are fueled by serious short-covering.
i admire people who stick their neck out and nuclear short this market, but charts like this are frightening.
