IMO ,the EUB made a major mistake in not addressing this issue years ago when natural gas did not trade todays prices. This will be interesting !

I wonder whether if it will also affect the macro picture, by taking away some gas production that woulda otherwise be coming onstream in the coming months. Any way to quantify this?

It seems that Canada's working gas in storage is even more at risk than US' for getting rebuilt to a satisfactory level for the winter, even without this development.

Hi Richard,
pay quite a bit of royalties to Alberta coffers
I was of course wondering about this also today as I watched a beautiful pile of profits vaporize.... but I digress..

Doesn't Alberta now get their royalty based on volume and price ? If the price of NG is driven up as a result would that mitigate the loss on royalty from decreased volume ?
Am I off base here ?

regards
Kastel

I've never seen something like this before, certainly with such a big impact to one company in Cdn, I noticed that POU traded off as well, not sure the impact to them..
Another thing about PMT, its possible that they hedged a lot of their production and now they do not have it, if prices rise more..

Re: PURCELL PEL.T

Hello Richard,

I do not remember if it was you or somebody else who suggested Purcell last fall.

PEL had some problems in the last 3 months. It looks very interesting at this price.

Do you or anybody else have negative comment on it???
