stocks soared in the 80s because they were CHEAP. same with HOMES in the 70s. homes are not cheap now. they are tulips...

two income families as more women joined the labor force. over time, downpayments have shrunk, originally 50 percent, and loans have increased in length from 5 years to 7, then to 15, and now 30 years. 40-year loans have been popping up and now loans can exceed the price of the house (downpayment grants effectively achieve this as well).
