Hmmm. Today I sent admiring emails to both Lileks and Salman Pax. I admire both of them for their ability to articulate.

Being unable to articulate clearly is widely held to be a sure mark that one does not think clearly.

However, what I look for in a plumber, a dentist, or a chef has nothing to do with articulation. It matters far more how able they are to translate vision into action.

Dubya, bless his heart, has some form of speech impediment. I can't imagine Dubya as blogger, although I would say the same about Clinton, Bush pere, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, and all the way up the line until maybe Jefferson, and maybe not.

On the other hand, Dubya is legendary for being persuasive face to face, as are Clinton, et al, all the way up the line to Millard Filmore, who maybe got a bad rap and maybe not.
