Charles,

I skimmed some of the articles from the mid-80s that Fisher published in Forbes (I don't read Forbes) and couldn't find any reference to the P/S ratio. I'll keep checking though. However, in his 1996 articles, I did find an article titled "PSRs Revisited". The first line is:

"A number of readers have written to ask if there has been more research on price/sales ratios since my first book introduced PSRs to the world in 1984" ( pcg.fisherinvestments.com )

Now, either Fisher is taking credit for something that's been around much longer, since Bill says it was a fundamental metric covered in the little red building up the river in 1967, or... well, something else is Fish(er)y. I'll read up on what he has to say, though. Thanks for the lead.
