Zeus: Good comments. And please keep posting any and all info that relates to employment numbers. I do note that govt and non-profit organizations provided the better numbers. (The US federal govt. has hired gobs of people for the war effort..... temporary relief? As well, homeland defense has taken on a large number of bodies) It is also worth noting that summer tends to provide higher levels of employment due to seasonal factors. As well, industries such as telecom would darned near disappear if they maintained the lay-off rate at last year's level. What worries me is that while some industries may well be bottoming out, others are just getting on the Lay-off bandwagon. Best, Earlie
