Not sure - though someone told me the deal had been dead in practice for some time.

Looks like Bin Laden is achieving his aims - get the US out of Saudi so the radicals can destabilize the regime, split the western alliances (NATO and the G8 couldn't organize a church picnic now), make terrorism something to idolize in the Arab slums where millions feel powerless, turn western democracies into security states paralyzed by fear....

Clever SOB, I will give him that. Too bad he couldn't focus that cunning on doing something decent for the world instead.

As an XOM shareholder, I hope so.

Actually, Total has a piece of the Royal Dutch Shell led deal, which probably won't go forward either.
