Well, I'm definitely cracked because I can't remember how to find my ip address!

Type ipconfig from a dos prompt.

Alternately on my xphome system, click on MyNetwork places (left side of split screen of MyComputer), then View network connections (left side again). Then from the right side click on your network card. Mine says Local Area Connection. Under the details tab, back on the left side again, the ip address will be displayed.

Hard to describe, easy to do.

Esteban

"I can't remember how to find my ip address! Mark - give me a clue, please!"

in addition to what answers you've received, Patricia, i think you might like this handy little tool from steve gibson... FREE IP Agent

go here grc.com (if not a hyperlink then cut & paste the url) and download the free utility.

i keep the IPAgent icon on each desktop and use it to check my network connection.

you can then go back and click Test My Shields, which will produce your IP address.

if you ever run IPAgent and it isn't showing your router network address, then you know that the router is not working, or not configured properly.
