Not brilliant, but maybe pragmatic. On the web, nothing surprises me anymore. There is so much junk out there that it is better to be skeptical. Maybe I've been lucky, careful, or a bit of both. Never had a virus, trojan, and extremely little spam.

I should have looked when on the site. Was there a disclaimer?

Looked at DShields Privacy Policy which appears to be normal, except for their Cookie policy.

They also make a statement that they will try to hide destination IP's, but that their data base is open to the public. Maybe not overt, but the opportunity for abuse does exist, as it probably does with most sites.
