The local Iraqis can try and punish the perps and there will be plenty of credible evidence available from the families who disintered and reintered their loved ones.

Well, I actually agree that we shouldn't be letting family members go digging through those graves. Because they have sort through quite a few bones and bodies until they find who they are looking (if they do)..

And that's just not dignified.. But right now, we're busy trying to maintain order in the cities..

But I sympathize with you on the CYA move they are making by trying to pull a "we didn't know"..

However, Thomas has no excuse.. He wants to actively deny the facts. He wants to call those families a pack of liars.. He wants to defend Saddam's regime as not being worthy of being overthrow, claiming that it didn't commit the crimes everyone else KNOWS he committed..

But he doesn't want to be see openly acknowledging his support Baathist hero.. No.. that would be too obvious.. All he has to do is deny..

Thomas is probably one of the worst cases of intellectual dishonesty I've ever experienced. It can only be that, or an outright deliberate effort aimed at spewing Baathist propaganda.
