I didn't mean to imply any inadequacy in SI's servers. It just appears clear, and you are saying the same thing, that there have been bugs in the config since the move. I can imagine it's frustrating when you know there is a problem and there are so many variables and you aren't as up to speed with UNIX as you'd like to be to go in and look see what could be wrong.

Just like in any buggy situation, though, it is only a matter of time before you isolate the problem and fix it.

The point I was wanting to emphasize is that kcplanet is doing a decent job and if I am getting good traces to both SI and IHUB and fast downloads from IHUB, then it is clear that the speed problem is almost certainly not an isp problem.

That new Dell server looks like a jewel. How tough will it be to get it in service?

in edit: SI delivering pages in 1-2 secs right now. Go figure.

Yes, it's very sporadic and unpredictable... Sometimes the page loads take only a second or two, sometimes five to ten seconds.
