Is Pollack in government now? Is he an aide to one of the main policymakers? Does he influence the hundreds of decisions made daily that will make or break our occupation effort in Iraq? BTW, did he ever serve a tour on the ground in the Middle East or just fly a desk in Virginia? Langley and Washington, DC are a long way from the Middle East. "Parachute" experts who drop in and out will never grasp an area like the people who put in time on the ground over many years. We repeat this mistake over and over and over and just keep doing it. Why? Because the Beltway exists to promote itself - that's the Washington game.
