Certicom Partner Network Expands by Six New Partners

Success of channel program signifies heightened awareness of need for
secure wireless solutions

MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 10 /CNW/ - Certicom Corp. (TSX: CIC), a leading
provider of wireless security solutions, today announced it has signed on six
new partners to the Certicom Partner Network. The continual growth of the
program signifies the market's growing recognition that security on wireless
networks must be addressed, in government and enterprise sectors. The new
partners will help Certicom respond to the increasing demand for wireless
security solutions throughout North America and internationally.
The Certicom Partner Network enables security-focused value-added
resellers (VARs) and large carriers with security divisions to complement
their product portfolios with award winning handheld security solutions. The
new partners include: iGov.com (U.S.), Phoenix Systems Corp (U.S), Savoir
Technology, Inc. (Lithia Springs, Georgia), Cryptonet SpA (Italy), Network
Technology Inc. (Japan), and nexera OEG (Austria).
"As our government clients rollout wireless networks we see an increase
in the demand for proven security products that work on constrained devices,"
said Bill Moore, VP Technical Services, iGov.com. "Until recently, clients
would treat security as a minor feature, ticking it off their checklist far
too quickly. As clients become more knowledgeable about security risks, they
want a stronger, sophisticated solution. We found those attributes in the
movian security applications. Certicom's products, technical knowledge and
support, coupled with our expertise, allow us to meet our customers' demands."
Government agencies, like corporations, are embracing wireless technology
quickly but at the same time are realizing the importance of securing these
wireless transactions with solutions that meet stringent requirements.
Agencies and departments are turning to companies like Certicom that have
received FIPS 140-2 certification. In fact, the National Security Agency (NSA)
is working with Certicom to research and develop advanced security technology
and tools for protecting classified information.
"Certicom is gaining real momentum in sectors, such as government, that
demand the highest level of assurance that their wireless network access and
e-mail are well protected by strong security," said Ian McKinnon, President
and CEO of Certicom. "To meet this demand, we're pleased to work with our new
partners, companies that are best of class in their respective countries, to
form complete security solutions for wireless communicates that support the
toughest standards."
movian(TM) by Certicom products are available to government, enterprise,
and other customers through members of the Certicom Partner Network. The suite
of wireless security applications allows users to confidently extend wireless
communications across their organizations, including to critical applications
such as e-mail and customer relationship management.

movian security applications include:

- movianMail(TM): send/receive digitally signed and encrypted e-mail
using your handheld.
