Yes, nothing like a weird 2.5 CDMA when 2.75 EDGE is there for easy upgrades.

Would you ever had guessed that those 2.1GHz size WCDMA urban cells are perfect for
EDGE at 1.8GHz??

While the rural cells does it with 900MHz, until the traffic becomes high enough
for some strategicly added 1800MHz cells.

However, up above the polar circle, herding the reindeer as well as guarding
the borders, NMT at 450MHz is still pretty good, but not for that many years.

Luckily reality-blah-blah-blah-tourism makes GSM at 900MHz a good option.

Survivor-nuts might even demand to reach some area where the handset
does not work very well anymore, the thrill of climbing a mountain
just to call mom, send some SMS and MMS messages, do some
internet surfing, the fear of camping in the dark shadow behind that
mountain witht mom not being able to call back, and all the
good stories about it when returning home.
