John Glad you got the problem worked out. It's just my opinion but I wouldn't be without virus protection. The Mcafee Pro may have had something go wrong during the install causing your slowdown problems. I haven't tried Mcafee in a couple of years so really don't have an informed opinion. I'd try it again if I were you and make sure you shut down everything you can before the install and follow the installation instructions to the letter. Make sure you read the "readme" file that comes with the download or the disk before the install. This is not a solicitation for them but if you don't like Mcafee you can try any of several free anti-virus programs available on the net. There's some info here. Message 18965732
