Ted, Is it because you've never seen how honorable people behave and you're confused?

Honorable? It seems you're the one who's confused. According to a report I've read, the editors were forced out by their employees. Raines knew about the scandals going on and had the power to stop them, but didn't because of his "politically correct" agenda. That, plus his management style that has been called "bizarre" at best, all got ignited once Jayson Blair spilled the beans.

The fact that Raines is not popular at the Times has been common knowledge for ten years. He's a big ego. However, no one forced him to resign; after all, most employees at the Times have big egos.

Raines is not an "honorable" person. He has damaged the reputation of one of the most respected newspapers in the world, and his resignation is well-deserved.

Sorry but I have to call them like I see them......its Jayson Blair who damaged the rep of the the Times, not Raines. Raines did not tell Blair to go and lie......Blair did it all on his own.
