We could get the butcher bill up to "thousands of American troops", but it would require us stick around long after it becomes obvious that it is a lost cause. Right now we're losing about one a day or so. That will triple well before the end of the year. At that rate, we get to the thousand level sometime next year.

That kind of contradicts what you wrote here, where you imply that casualties will near 10,000 before Bush puts an end to it. At three per day, that would imply a pullout somewhere around 2012. I think some Constitutional issues will keep Bush from hanging around that long:

We're stuck now. The Moron in Chief is going to keep us in there until our body bag total gets well over 1000. I'm guessing that he throws in the towel somewhere near the 10k level. Hell, he might even get reelected.

You also said the following on March 23:

Now our supply troops are getting ambushed by Iraqi civilians. That's right. Those Iraqi "soldiers" are cut off from Baghdad. They're no longer getting paid. Not only that, but these are civilians in the southern, Shiite part of Iraq. By the neoconservative's insane theories, these civilians should be throwing flowers at our passing convoys.

It's clear now that most of these guys were regime thugs and die-hard Ba'athists with everything to lose, with foreign nationals joining in as the fight got closer to Baghdad. The civillian response, while far from uniform, was on the whole much different.

Then there's this from March 24, five days into the war:

I think that we can have peace with honor. What we need to do is to announce that we've destroyed Iraq's nonexistent weapons of mass destruction, and then pull back into Kuwait.

And then there's the following:

Look for me on TV 3 months or so from now. When I light the American flag, there will be tears in my eyes.

Your three months will be up in less than three weeks. Have you given CNN a call?
