Hi Sig; Re: "Have a bad morning - unless of course, these two people have no proof whatsoever and are merely lying again so they will be kicked out of Government in disgrace."

This administration has always believed what it wanted to believe, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

They believed that the democratic government of Turkey would let them attack Iraq despite the fact that polls in Turkey were against it by over 95%.

They believed that the Iraqi army would welcome them with flowers and parades despite the fact that the US has spent 12 years kicking Iraq's butt.

They believed that the rest of the world would join the attack on Iraq, giving the operation UN legality.

They believed that the cheering crowds in Baghdad would warm the hearts of Arabs everywhere, thereby reducing terrorism.

They believed that they could decapitate the Iraqi government in a painless and cheap invasion, and avoid getting chaos and looters.

They believed that because Saddam had lied in the past, he must therefore be lying in the present, and that therefore he must have oodles of hidden WMDs.

They believed that the only reason the UN inspectors were unable to find WMDs was because the UN was incompetent.

They believed that they could lie about their "top secret" proof of the existence of WMDs (in 2003), and since the whole war would be such a cakewalk and pleasant experience, they would be forgiven for their lies.

When Bush and Blair went to their respective governments and asked for votes authorizing a war, they were unable to get the authorization without doing two things. First, they had to promise to go to the UN and to only have a war if the UN was unable to disarm Iraq. Second, they had to lie about their knowledge of the weapons situation in Iraq.

Now it is clear that in addition to lying about their knowledge of Iraqi weapons, they also lied about their dedication to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. The UN did disarm Iraq. Iraq cooperated to an amazing degree. Most of the world saw this and applauded Iraq, but Bush and Blair started a (losing) war anyway.

Now they're in a position of being declared war criminals by countries like Belgium, LOL.

Under that situation, why should we be surprised that they're still in a state of denial?

If they admit to the fact that there are no WMDs in Iraq, they would have to look in the mirror and know themselves to be liars, killers and war criminals, and that their dishonorable actions will be a stain on the US and the UK for thousands of years.

Apologies will be accepted at any time from the Press and Thread members who roundly condemned our Military forces for not killing all Iraqis soon enough to prevent looting of the Museum by those who were trying to keep things safe.
Addition of the newly discovered gold pieces not seen for 12 years should make up for the loss of the priceless vase and a few others.
