Unconditional Love"?
Your brilliant - which Unrighteous Idol is that?

You mistake defending christ , with loving christ Brian ...but it's been done many many times before , so you are not unique.

It's true that over in India they have idols for the sacred snow white Bull in many places ...and it is a symbol of divine "Joy" and called Nandi . Upon this bull one of the Trinity of God's rides, Lord Siva "The destroyer". Who also orms a trinity with Brahma and Vishnu. Also, god of arts, knowledge and dancing. That the hindus held cows sacred , for me is one idea of an advancement for the cause of human beings learning compassion . The idea of kindness, turning the other cheek and compassion etc form the basis of Hinduism as it does in Christianity .

So people use the motif of the gentle cow/bulll to remind them of the infinite compassion , spirit and deep love and wisdom of God . So why is that different than the cathedrals and churches adorned with cherubs , angels , saints...or demons and other such imagined things ?Or the cross around a christian's neck ? Or the Loaves of bread and the symbol of the fish that the early christians used ?Or the myriads of holy "relics" that circulated around Europe and evrywhere else for centuries ...a thorn , a splinter of wood , to the entire cross ...a saint's finger , a piece of cloth from his tunic , or the burial shroud. And hundreds upon hundreds of stautes of Madonna's and other "idols" that abound . Even the scripture itself becomes a "false idol" in the wrong hands , and words are used to promote hatreds or exclusivism ...but not you though<g>

Interesting that this idea of the "Trinity" of God is old and developed over by the hindus , when Judaism/Christianity were young...isn't it brian ?Just another coincidence of early Christianity borrowing from the older prevalent belief systems, wisdoms, and descriptions , far beyond any simple idealistic teaching of the young rabbai in Galilea.

Nothing new under the "Sun of God " , one would assume then.... ?

;-)

Ecclesiastes 1:10 , "Is there anything whereof it may be said, See, this is new? It hath been already of old time, which was before us."
