In the US it seems a communist line of thought is taboo.

On my US citizenship application form, there was a question : "Have you ever been a Communist, or been a member of the Communist Party in any country?"

Even if I was, I would have to be pretty stupid to answer "yes". Such is US style democracy, I'm told.
