Charles, quoting the article -- "Microsoft's decision to cut the price of its SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition, effective Aug. 1."

I've seen many advance notices of a price increase, but don't recall an advance notice of a price decrease. Who will buy in the interim? What am I missing?

Puzzled, Ron

slashing the price of its SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition by $450, to $49.

Whoa!

I always thought a lot of SQL server growth was actually coming from the access and foxpro camp. No statistics available for this, of course.

Does Linux have a free database though? I don't know the Linux environment really.
