All three of you, eh? Everyone else seems to be more or less gruntled.

Godot: NOTHING is impossible when you OWN the Company.
They can do anything they wish. . . BUT. . .
If they cross THE line, everyone will now it and they will NOT like it.

I'll bet I could GUESS (with one try) the source of the Rumors. . .

If you KNOW the source, why don't you say so?

I can't stop rumors, and those particular kinds of rumors have only one intent: To discredit the site.

For the record, if I wanted to badly enough and was up to speed enough on Oracle to write an interface that would let me do it, I could read PM's. As is true of Investors Hub, or of any operator/programmer of any site, if I wanted to badly enough, I could.

However, I'm not up to speed enough with it, don't care to, and wouldn't because it's wrong.

The only other way I would be able to read PM's would be to log in as the sender or recipient. There are no provisions here for reading PM's not to or from me. Even the admin tools contain no such provisions.

And logging in as someone else would take a lot of effort, too. The passwords are stored encrypted and not displayed on the admin screen. I can see loginID's but not passwords.

In short, the rumor is false. I do not and will not access PM's. The only times I've done so in the past is when someone has reported a particularly egregious violation received via PM (like a death threat), then, with their permission and them providing the loginID and password and the URL to the message in question, I've logged in as them to see for myself that the PM does exist. This step is necessary because there used to be many reports of violations via PM that apparently were just made up in an attempt to get someone booted.

So....

I hope this is both not true and impossible.

It is not true. But I would be lying (and any programmer or DBA would know it) if I said it was impossible.

the troops where i roam are becoming very disgruntled. I would, if you care, urge you to fix whatever it is you need to fix, and do it soon.

I agree. It is the top priority right now. The fix has not been accomplished, though, as we're still trying to uncover the cause.
