I actually don't think this msft platform has a chance in hell. Mostly because I think msft as a company has lost its edge totally, and (imo) their cash cow office suite is a sitting duck for some smart startup company to create a tight, fast, easy to use word processor that allows you to do something like use an acronym in text without capitalizing the first letter. (not exactly rocket science is it) Also I think windows as an OS is outdated, it shoudn't take 5 minutes to boot up, there are a whole host of easily identifyable problems with msft products that can't seem to get fixed. The sign of a maturing company in the IBM tradition imo, just sitting there waiting for its inevitable dismantling by smaller upstarts. OK end of rant.

But the important part of that article is the sense that a business exists for media delivery and management, kindof a software version of Tivo, in a way this paves the way for true VOD that everybody wants. Some company is going to get this business, I doubt it will be msft.
