Hi Sig; Re: "Now the worlds attention is upon the US, in having done something, what we do next.?" We should do something logical. For example, take Hawkmoon's suggestion that we get the Arab countries to provide peacekeeping forces (see #reply-19014465). Sure the Arabs have a moral responsibility for keeping their brother looters and "Ali-babas" under control, but since the Israelis are truly relieved to no longer be under the threat of the non existent Iraqi WMDs, they should have to help too. I suggest that we divide Iraq up into zones and have the Arabs and Israelis take control of it. The problem with US forces is that we don't speak Arabic. The Arab forces do, so they'll have little trouble eliminating the terrorist elements of Iraq just like they already eliminated the Arab terrorists in the other Arab states. And the Israelis have an extensive secret service that includes lots of Arabic speakers. Plus, with their long exposure to the region, the Israelis know the local customs and so they can be expected to anger the locals less than those naive US soldiers. This plan will provide immediate peace in the Middle East, provided that the two sides truly do want to prevent terrorism in Iraq. The force requirements would total about 2 million soldiers, and that wouldn't leave anyone left to fight over Palestine. -- Carl P.S. Then we pass a UN resolution declaring Iraq an official "Islamofascist vs Judeofascist Combat Zone", where the rest of us just have to stay the hell out of the way.
