Hi KLP; Re: "If there are leaks of classified material, I hope there will be jail sentences for treasonous actions."

Interesting comment. The US citizens who end up working in the CIA are patriots just like me. That is, a lot of them are "Duty Honor Country" types, whose allegiance is to the United States, not to George Bush or the Republican party. As such, when what the government claims gets too far from the truth, and that discrepancy starts to endanger the United States, they will leak to the press.

They already have, and the leaks were published at the time that Bush was mouthing his lies. The leaks were published in most major newspapers, but the public was bloodthirsty for a war, and the leaks were ignored.

If the war had gone well, the leaks would have been ignored, but with the mounting problems, they will be revisited.

P.S. Leakers don't generally go to jail. They're protected by "freedom of the press". That is, the newspapers can't be made to give out the names of the leakers. Oh, our alliance with Israel has destroyed that freedom too?

And what was the damage done by a leaker that would deserve jail time anyway? All they're doing is repeating what most of the rest of the world already knew, that Saddam was cooperating with the UN inspectors and didn't have any real evidence of having WMDs. This information is not damaging to the US at all. It's not like they're giving out the names of secret informants, for example.

Instead, I am guessing that your real hate of them is due to their ruining George Bush's reputation. Well to some of us, the United States is a hell of a lot more important than that moron's reputation. And there isn't a damn thing that can be done now to rescue it.
