This is hilarious. No wonder Bush got bamboozled by believing what he wanted to believe. Let me quote your own article to you, then you tell me how believable it is:

"The official, from the top ranks of Iran's cleric-led government, asked to remain anonymous amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran."

But it is possible that Iran listened to the same lies that other Iraqi expats exported; that Iraq had mounds of WMDs and needed to be invaded and disarmed immediately (and themselves put into power, LOL).

Also note that it is deeply written into man's nature to overestimate the weapons possessed by ones enemies. This is the disease that infected Bush, and there is no doubt that the Iranians, with a recent devastating war against Saddam, would have the same distortion.

The only article I can find on Tehran Times is this one, which suggests that the EU didn't say that Iraq had WMDs:
