Yes, very old, dirty and fuzzy trick, still works and has always worked well except where investments
are huge, long term, global and connected to both roaming cash and customers.

Kind of embedded in the word "tele"-communication.

Not an accident that CCITT got going so well in terms of larger and global tele-connectivity, while
local, isolated point-to-point connections have been free for anything to make the local
sharecroppers stay around, isolated from the rest of the world.

What was that old thing, "MSDOS is not done until XXXXX does not run"???

Ilmarinen

Btw, was it really just a mistake, a regular bug?? or more like a future feature,
CCITT managed to handle a lot of those too, although it always took some delays
to handle those defacto-bugs out in the market.

Luckily they all have been fixed since the days CCITT took over tele-communication
on a global scale.

However, it was fun when the major goal of the small ones was to correctly reverse engineer
all the bugs of Ma Bell as well as the latest version of MSDOS within the scope of the
local, unconnected personal computer and local point-to-point connection.

Anyway, CCITT is now gone, just something old and fundamental in terms of global evolution.

Is it really a fact it was just a regular bug, that "future feature"??

However, the road of CCITT is littered with those funny roadkill bugs..
