What they dropped was one federal report required from companies laying off more than 50 people... This does not change the unemployment report.. it does reduce one report out of many required from companies to fill out monthly to the government....What we need is more of these reports to be eliminated. I for one used to fill out several energy reports monthly for various government agencies.. This took quite some time and personnel. All non productive time!

Federal unemployment numbers are measured against a base.. I expect many people decided what was to be included and not included.. If there is a problem write to your congressman.. In the meantime it is a measurement of employed/unemployed and as long as they keep the base the same we can tell if things are improving or not in the work force.

Now back to booms, busts, recoveries.
