Saddam was hardly any threat to our armed forces in Iraq when we were invading, why would be be any threat to us at home?

Using that logic we should just take over the entire world in the name of "peace and freedom". Such hogwash. Also, Bushies ignore the fact that we've created a lot more hate against America by pushing the war too brazenly. If it had been handled in a bi-lateral way with some of the more neutral countries with us then we'd have supreme credibility and lots of help settling Iraq after the war.

The war itself was the easy part. But Bush went ahead and declared victory. What victory? We occupy Iraq. And thank God our troops weren't hit harder. But the price we paid for this war was enormous. 10 months of economic paralysis for one thing. 2 million lost jobs. And are we safer today? If Saddam was not intending to attack the USA, then no. Not really at all.

Bottomline, any reasonable person would concur Saddam was a minor threat - maybe. That's it. But he was sold to us as if he were Hitler invading Europe.

jimcav,

Re: Therefore you can't prove Bush lied about it can you?

You perfectly fit the description of the "Ignorati" (see below), the foolish and childish followers of Bush who couldn't tie their shoes without adult supervision.

Bush lied about the Niger-Iraq carnotite contract in his State of the Union address. Even a consummate and consistent liar like Condy Rice admitted this past Sunday on Meet the Press that the the Niger contract was a fraud.

You haven't a leg to stand on. Bush is a liar, and you are damn fool and none too bright to defend your innocence at trying to spin lies that even the Bushies have given up trying to defend.

*****
Ignorati, defined:

A lot of very satisfied GOP WAR supporters watched Fox News at the sports bar and high-fived each other with every missile strike. They are the backbone of today's Republican Party. Call them, the 'Ignorati.' They are SURE one of the Teletubbies is gay. They are at once pro life and pro death penalty. They know Satan is real, and global warming is not. They await 'The Rapture.' They view poverty as a character defect. They can't be distracted by the facts. They love Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld and wanted America to kick some Camel Jockey Ass! HOORAHHH!

One dares not inflame the Ignorati, lest they get 'DIXIECHICKED.' Getting Dixiechicked is just like when an old business associate uses the massive national media power you gave him to trash somebody you don't like. But that would be wrong...

The KEY to the Ignorati's favor is they always need somebody to HATE. A-RABS are easy to hate, and damn if everybody doesn't hate the French. Without blind hatred, being ignorant loses a lot of its appeal as a lifestyle.

So Bush gave them GREAT 'non-reality TV' -- "Troops Gone Wild: Baghdad," and THE PRIDE WAS BACK. Every time a two billion dollar B-2 dropped a smart bomb on a mud hut, the Ignorati CHEERED! Desert camo clothing sales were off the chart. Manhood was back in season.

They LOVED our Iraqi 'non-victory,' but were soon ready to chase 'the next big thing,' The Ignorati are easy. Sometimes it's as simple as landing a jet on an aircraft carrier, or doing a tax cut, or having Fox News shift to a nice gooey murder, and the rest of the 24/7 media blindly follows, because Fox may not be a lot of things, but it IS Number One.
