SAMSys Announces Availability of 13.56 MHz Conveyor Reader at RFID Journal Live! TORONTO, June 11 /CNW/ - SAMSys Technologies Inc. (SMY:TSX-VEN) ("SAMSys"), a world leading provider of radio frequency identification (RFID) hardware solutions and RFID integration consulting services, announced today that it has introduced a new 13.56 MHz Conveyor Reader to its comprehensive RFID reader portfolio. This new RFID reader is designed to increase efficiencies and lower the cost of ownership within warehouse and manufacturing work-in-progress environments such as assembly lines. SAMSys has completed an implementation and pilot period of its new conveyor reader system at a multi-national company providing integrated print management and outsourced communications. "We introduced the SAMSys 13.56 MHz Conveyor Reader specifically for warehouse and manufacturing environments to streamline the receiving process, improve inventory visibility, and provide accurate shipping records," says Cliff Horwitz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SAMSys. SAMSys' new RFID conveyor reader using low cost 13.56MHz technology is uniquely configured to read standard ISO 15693 tags on cartons as they move along a conveyor, regardless of the location of the tags on the cartons. Tags can be placed on the top, sides, front, or back of boxes. Using the readily extensible SAMSys reader network capability, multiple conveyor read points can be connected together to provide a simple connection to warehouse management system processors and conveyor controllers. Advantages of the new SAMSys conveyor reader include: increased reliability over traditional barcodes which are prone to scuffing and therefore degraded read reliability and accuracy; lower cost read points compared to barcode readers and lower cost of ownership when reusable tags are used.
