If the general US equity markets keep rising, this in no way is a negative for precious metal type investments IMHO.

There is absolutely no reason why they cannot go up together.

Fed has thrown 16.5b into the Repo pool over the last three days, obviously as a counter to the destabilizing effects of the Freddie Mac mess. IMO: scrapping the bottom of the barrel, kind of like the Germans in their last offensive (Battle of the Bulge): Dec 1944.

Add the rapidly emerging energy crisis, and we have serious problems the stock market is sleeping through.
