"A poor man should be hard at work improving his miserable financial condition. " What is this, the triumph of Scrooge? As I mentioned, pigeon holing leads to wrong assumptions. I see it as a Christian, not as "Progressive". But the path is narrow... Whatever the germ of your reasoning, when the end result is that the guests at the banquet are mocking as Lazarus searches for crumbs, one should wonder if that "tough love" lead you astray at some point.
