We all know the American masses love a good war. Press coverage and their sterilization of it makes it reality TV of the best kind. And the good patriots you are, you naturally rally behind your Commander and Chief no matter what the justification is. So it makes for good politics, in the short term. But Chimp can only think one day at a time.

Jake, the war did enhance his political standing. It also distracted the public from his failed economic policies.
