But keep hoping. Hope is what keeps humans alive.

The whole concept of blaming everything on Saddam is risible. Even the continuing attacks on US soldiers are being blamed on Saddam. A little while ago, I'd have sworn that it was Osama that was causing all the trouble, LOL.

No, it's a fact of human nature that when foreign boys with guns come into a country and begin shooting things up, the local boys get their guns and shoot back. It's been going on since guns were invented, and with other weapons before that. It's a permanent part of the human species, and will remain with us always. The only way to make an occupation work is to either come down so incredibly hard that the losers are killed in droves and the survivors submit (which most of us are too civilized to support), or to come down so lightly that the people barely notice the regime change (which it is too late to do).
