You are right, it is a very big problem which may have no solution, at least not within the current conceptual framework. Jews, whether you emphasize the religious or the ethnic meaning of the word, fared very poorly living as minorities in various countries over the past couple of thousand years. They were mistreated, persecuted, they suffered repeated episodes of genocide, including the Crusades. They are treated well in the US and in most civilized countries after WWII, but this is only a brief interlude in what was a very gruesome story. If faced with the danger of being overrun by the Arabs, who are certainly no Judophiles, Israelis will fight back, as they well should. Reality is not always easy to place into neat purist categories.
