Of course, its not JUST about power. The rapist does get off. However, the motive is not usually lust because they find the person physically or emotionally attractive; otherwise, 60 year grandmothers and 5 year olds would not be their victims. Its knowing that they can control the other person and get whatever they want from that person.

Talk about generalizing. You are assuming that Bill Clinton the rapist is like some serial rapist/killer. There are people who rape because they can't control their peckers. There are people who rape because they get off on having power over the victim. And there are those who rape because they can't control their peckers AND abuse their power to do it. You can't sensibly generalize to the extent you're trying to.

Alcohol or drugs is the excuse used to get what the person wants

Yes, and an imbalance of power can have exactly the same effect. In extreme cases, fathers have abused daughters and been able to get away with it because of the imbalance of power. Sort of like Clinton & Lewinsky.

The lengths to which you will travel to exempt that swine Clinton from any responsibility are just amazing.

Tim said - " Not all rapists are serial rapists or chronically abusive people."

Ted said - "What? Now you're an expert on rape and you're formulating a new theory on rapist. The stuff I posted is commonly held theory by American psychologists. From where are you getting your info? "

Tim said - "It is not commonly held that every single rapist (or even almost every single one) is a serial rapist or is chronically abusive."

Ted said - "You're quibbling......irresponsibly. "

How is that quibbling. I said not all rapists are serial rapists. You then come back with something about how your ideas are commonly held by most psycholgists. I point out that it is not commonly held by psychologists that all rapists are serial rapists. It not an example of me quibbling its an example of you not responding coherently to what I posted.
