I have no idea what you mean by "Christian" but I think you don't understand it very well. I was thinking of the 'turn the other cheek' idea. Couldn't have been the Holocaust, that happened almost 100 years after Zionism got a good start. The Holocaust was but the culmination of European anti-Semitism. Zionism was kicked off in earnest by the Dreyfus Affair in France, Tzarist pogroms in Russia (the Russian empire's official policy in the 1880s was to get rid of all the Jews by expulsion, conversion or death), and general anti-Semitism everywhere. In the US, Jews live very well. And the Jews have not moved to Israel in masses from the US. From Europe and the Arab world, on the other hand... One of the reasons the Arabs think the US government must be controlled by the Zionist conspiracy; when a country actually permits Jews to live there, what can you expect?
